This is one of the Environments created for Quixel's 'Ninety Days' project, during which each individual artist in our team was tasked with completing as many different environments as possible, all in a timespan of 90 days.

This one in particular was a challenging learning experience!
It all started as a rough idea and quickly snowballed into a more involved effort of RnD on how to create broken or destroyed building pieces all in Unreal Engine 5. For the entire scene, the engine hasn't been left once. All pieces for the collapsed and blown-apart structures were built using UE5's Geometry and Fracturing Tools, leveraging Megascans surface scans.
Originally, this scene did not feature futuristic sci-fi vehicles but rather tanks and helicopters with real-life counterparts present in current conflicts around the globe. Disclaimer: the project, in it's original form, was completed before the war on Ukraine.
Due to the war, we had to shift the content of the shots after completion.
Massive thanks to Mathew O'Halloran (https://www.artstation.com/mathewo) for providing both his Sci-Fi Drone and Battle Droid, along with Chase Cooper who offered his time to create an IK Control Rig for Mathew's Droid, which in turn allowed me to slap on some crude animations for the final sequence. Without the help of these two, this scene wouldn't have made it into the final cut.
Everything for 'Ninety Days' was created using the Epic Games and Quixel Ecosystem, meaning we used Megascans, Metahuman, Sketchfab and the Epic Marketplace.
A massively heartfelt thankyou to the amazing people I get to work alongside with:
